WELCOME to the Connecticut River Watch Program (CRWP), a nationally recognized volunteer water quality monitoring, protection and improvement program for the Connecticut River and its tributaries, administered by the Connecticut River Coastal Conservation District.

Collaborating with local partners, we engage community volunteers in river monitoring and assessment activities throughout the Connecticut River watershed, and work to ensure that water quality information is accessible and usable by local officials and the general public.

CRWP goals are to:

  • Collect scientifically credible data that can be used to identify and correct water quality problems
  • Build public awareness of local river resources and water quality issues

CRWP helps watershed and community groups plan and implement monitoring programs, including:
  • Develop program goals and design water quality studies
  • Recruit and train volunteers
  • Implement monitoring activities
  • Analyze data and write reports
  • Develop follow-up actions
